Nadia - The Secret of Blue Water is an 39 episode anime series created by the GAINAX animation studio.
The story plays in 1889. Things start in Paris at the World Exhibition. The story focuses on Nadia, a 14 year old orphan with a mysterious past. She owns the Blue Water, a deep blue gem. When Grandis and her henchmen (gem thieves) appear to steal it, she is rescued by Jean, an 14 year old inventive genius whose inventions don't always work as well as he planned. Chasen by the thieves, they escape with a plane (Jean's latest invention). Well, finally they have to land in the Atlantic Ocean where they are picked up by Captain Nemo and the Nautilus. As the story developes, Nadia finds out more about herself, the Blue Water and the real bad guys who are after it.
